Bing’s PPC Meltdown

I don’t try to find ways to pick on Microsoft’s marketing techniques.
It’s just that they make it so easy.
The folks at Bing have decided to buy pay per click ads on Google Adwords. Not a bad idea.
But they need to learn a bit about phrase and exact match, I think:

And my favorite:

OK, I’ll stop. I’m supposed to be on vacation, after all…

Haha I could see how you could play devil’s advocate if it just showed up for seo, but fusion and tuna fish boat. Lol that was a great laugh. Thanks!

Haha Ian! I almost blew Starbucks through my nose when I saw this. Tuna fish boat engine? I wonder what the quality score ranking on this one is…

    Late to the post.
Yes, they look silly for bidding on poorly targeted phrases.
However, it’s really genius and fits perfectly with their marketing message. They say other search engines give you bogus results and in this case they are making Google return bad results. Makes sense to me.

Hey, if they got the money, why not put “search” on broad match? you saw it and showed it thousands of people… mission accomplished

Seems like now that they have merged with Yahoo, they are doing even crazier marketing tactics. Now they are going to be combining their ppc programs. Should be interesting.
